Evil? Staphnof grinned. She didn't know what real evil was, he thought. When the gray wolf passed him running, Staphen was annoyed, but he let her take over the lead.
They came upon the herd. Staphen's stomach rumbled, as he dropped down. He breathed in their heavy musk scent, and his heart began to pound. Bliss was close by, eyeing the herd. Suddenly she sprang forward, and he knew she'd spotted her prey. Staphnof waited to give her a head start, the leaped up and ran straight at the herd.
Antlered mothers looked up fearfully, and as one the herd took off, stampeding down the plain. Staphen, tongue lolling snapped at their flailing legs, dodging their vicious hooves. He wondered if Bliss had taken down her victim yet.
He was enjoying the chase. He leaped up and snapped his teeth on a leg, drawing blood. He dropped back down, snorting in exertion, watching his handiwork of panic go trampling over the horizon. He licked the little trickle of fresh blood off his lips and turned, looking for his companions.
He trotted over to Bliss. She invited him to enjoy the calf, and he took it up without any acknowledgement. He tore into the hide to the warm meat beneath, and began to feast. He was kind of annoyed that he had to share with Cassey, but he tried not to show it.
Once his hunger had been eased, he lifted his head. "Thank you. What a fine catch it is. Are you sure you've had enough?" to Bliss. He had his eye on a meaty bone, which he intended to scoop up and enjoy in a moment.

Bliss was pleased to see her new acquaintances enjoying her catch, and was astonished at Staphen's hunger, because she had never seen a male wolf eat before. Her father never ate in front of anyone, to show his pride, she supposed.
I am quite content, and have had my fill of food for now.. She said politely to Staphnof. The sun was starting to set with the clouds were turning red, and she felt exhausted. I think I will call it a day and find myself a nice area to sleep in, She thought. She noticed by now that the carra'boo' had ran from their grazing area sometime after they feed.
If you don't mind, I must excuse myself and find me a resting place. Bliss excused herself politely from the two wolves as she trotted off slowly toward the sun and the trees, hoping to find a decent and safe place.
